Another trip to the land of smiles, which took in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket.
Bangkok is Bangkok and I think I’m over Bangkok in a big way; it may take you a while to get used to the smog in this city the traffic is incredible 24 hours a day,
There are however a great number of places of interest to visit. Sleeping Buddha, Jade Buddha, and Solid Gold Buddha, Night markets, having done these before there was no need this time. However Carmel and I did go on a Dinner cruise up the river at night and at 1100 baht it was value for money, the presentation of the boat, the food the staff were all 1st Class. The Thai Govt have cracked down on the night life around the country which in a lot of ways is a good thing so the infamous area of Patpong is not what it was in the 80’s although ask and you will find
We met some new friends this trip whilst in Pattaya, one was a very colorful character Jimmy. Jimmy and his Partner Nodger both from England run and own the Sringfellows A Go Go in Soi Yamoto Pattaya.I think they are going to change the name of the street to Soi Little England it seems every bar is owned by someone from England.
Jimmy was a piercer in his Tattoo Studio in Wolverhampton England called The Palace and for an interesting night at the Go Go bar get chatting to Jimmy.
Both Jimmy and Nodger are good blokes and Carmel and I thank them for making us welcome and we looking forward to seeing you both again.
We stayed at the Siam Bayshore Hotel you will be impressed with this hotel if you decide to stay there, nice pools, restaurants and again the staff are incredible. As soon as you leave the hotel you are at the start of walking street in Sth Pattaya and after a night running amok and the girls doing the usual retail therapy you can go back to this hotel and not be bothered by the hustle and bustle of the nightlife.
There is so much to do in Pattaya, 1000,000-year Stone Park, Tiger Zoo, Go Karts, Shooting Range, Snake shows, Crocodile farm and much more.
The tiger Zoo was most impressive, the breeding program they have there is great, Tiger’s feeding piglets and Sows feeding tiger cubs one enclosure even had a dog in with the tigers and piglets well worth the trip. You will also get to see the Scorpion Lady, a pretty Thai Lady covered in Scorpions.
After Pattaya we flew to Phuket, and once again stayed at the Holiday Inn. This hotel is absolutely magic and we would not stay anywhere else. Again you are right at the start of the action when you leave the hotel grounds but still have that quietness for those who want it at night. Again the staff here are 1st class as are the hotel facilities.
We actually done a Thai cooking class at the hotel, I would highly recommend this to anyone interested. Great value for money.
We met Kirby and Ivan from NSW in Phuket and spent most night’s with them drinking piss and watching the nightlife from the Ned Kelly bar, some good night’s were held there. You only have to ask Caroline and Mick from Connely in WA after a night on the shooters Caroline decided she would try the local cuisine, Cooked Grasshoppers and ants, she never got to see much outside the hotel after that. They again are a great couple and we look forward to seeing them again in Perth minus the Grasshoppers although I will BBQ some for you on request Caroline
The shooting range was great with Carmel shooting 81% with a .38 cal revolver 1st up, think I better be nice from now on.
If you are in the need for an excellent massage, Thai, Oil, Foot, Head and Shoulder, Manicure, Pedicure, Facials, Hair cuts, color’s etc then a visit to the Wellness massage Centre is not to be missed. The staff there are highly trained and very professional, thanks to Arlun for all my great massages.
Then all to quickly it was back to Perth and to the Tattoo Studio, which KD from Stray Catz in Melbourne had been looking after for me. Thanks KD it’s great to find someone you can trust to look after things these days, next time we will take the TV remote away from Bree till she has her shower.
